Theodor Schwartzkopff: Sonata all´imitatione del Rossignolo e del Cucco
à 5 Viol: e un Flauto (für 2 Violinen, 2 Violen, Tenorblockflöte und Basso continuo)
The professional career of Theodor Schwartzkopff is closely related to the court of Württemberg where he worked as Kapellmeister. This Sonata is part of the music collection of the Crown Prince Friedrich Ludwig von Württemberg.
The first violin plays the virtuosic singing nightingale with an accompaniment of the strings and in between, played by the flauto, a simple and lonely cuckoo calls around twenty times.
