Johann Abraham Schmikerer (attributed): Musico-Instrumentalische Gemüths-Lust, Band II

The name of the composer is not indicated on the print from 1712. We can read only "... verfast von einem edlen Liebhaber diser Kunst"

The mystery of the allegedly lost second part of Schmikerer’s Zodiaci Musici appears to be solved with the new edition of the Musico-Instrumentalischen Gemüths-Lust. Musicologist Hans Bergmann was able to show that the latter print is the second part of the former. As in the former, there are six four-part partias of eight movements each, which match exactly to the style and succession of keys of those in the Zodiaci. Moreover, in the Gemüths-Lust is found the passage “this second part.” Appended is a six-part partia, likewise with eight movements.
