Jean-Philippe Rameau: Opera Suite
Arranged for 4 Violins
ISMN
A collection of dances and airs from various operas by Jean-Philippe Rameau. The highly colorful orchestration typical of Rameau’s Opera has been arranged here for four violins, creating a new, exciting sound.
The music is on an intermediate technical level and presents a challenge for ensembles.
Arranged by "Les Quatre Violons" (Hiro Kurosaki, Simon Heyerick, Mihoko Kimura, Isabel Serrano), based on the arrangements for two violins by L´abbé le fils (1761).
Contents:
Ouverture (from Pygmalion)
Pantomime niaise et un peu lente (from Pygmalion)
Menuet (from Platée)
Air des Sauvages (from Les Indes galantes)
